ROHIT SHARMA, VIRAT KOHLI AND HARDIK PANDYA SING 'VANDE MATARAM' IN SYNC WITH WANKHEDE STADIUM | VIDEO GOES VIRAL

A massive crowd of passionate fans gathered along Marine Drive in South Mumbai to celebrate India's T20 World Cup victory. The parade, which began at Nariman Point and ended at Wankhede Stadium, brought traffic to a halt as thousands lined the streets to see their cricketing heroes.

During the celebration at Wankhede Stadium, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and the rest of the Indian team joined the crowd in singing "Vande Mataram." This moment echoed the 2011 ODI World Cup final when the crowd sang the same song as MS Dhoni hit the winning six against Sri Lanka. Check out the video here:

The BCCI honored the victorious team with a Rs 125 crore prize for their second T20 World Cup win. After the felicitation, the team took a victory lap around the stadium, singing the patriotic song.

For Rohit Sharma, who was the youngest member of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's 2007 squad, leading his own World Champion team at 37 was undoubtedly a surreal experience. Over the years, while many teammates have come and gone, the now-retired T20 captain has been a constant presence.

The parade and celebration highlighted a historic moment for Indian cricket, with fans and players reveling in their triumph. The fans' enthusiastic participation, the emotional singing of "Vande Mataram," and the substantial prize money emphasized the significance of this victory for the team and its supporters.

"This (crowd) tells that the desperation we had to win was similar to the desperation which the fans had. The win has brought smiles on faces of crores of people. This is a special team and this trophy belongs to the nation," Rohit said while addressing the fans inside the stadium.
