'A PAGE OUT OF MY PLAYBOOK, WOOOO!!': RIC FLAIR APPROVES ROHIT SHARMA DOING ICONIC STRUT WHEN LIFTING THE T20WC TITLE

After managing to claim the T20 World Cup 2024 by beating South Africa by 7 runs in the finale that took place in Barbados on Saturday, the captain, Rohit Sharma had an interesting way of coming up to collect the trophy which garnered a response from a legendary name in the pro-wrestling industry.

When Rohit was making his way to take the trophy from the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s secretary, Jay Shah, he had a stuttered walk that resembled the signature walk by the WWE legend, ‘The Nature Boy,’ Ric Flair.

The WWE Hall of Famer tagged the Indian skipper and said,” @ImRo45

Interestingly, it was Kuldeep Yadav who gave Rohit the idea of doing Flair’s signature walk when the two were in line to receive their respective medals prior to the trophy lifting. The Indian fans can certainly thank Kuldeep for inspiring the Indian captain for doing that iconic strut which went viral across social media.

Following the finale, Rohit along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja also announced that they would be retiring from T20 internationals as well which marked the end of a truly glorious era.

While Rohit who performed in the previous two fixtures was unable to get going with the bat, it was Kohli who had a disastrous tournament that came in clutch with a vital half-century which helped India set the tone in the first innings.

The head coach, Rahul Dravid will also call time on his coaching stint with the Indian team. It is reported that Gautam Gambhir is the front-runner to take over.

The Men in Blue will have their next assignment where a fairly younger crop of players will be taking on Zimbabwe in a five-match series in July where Shubman Gill has been appointed as the skipper for the squad.
