Stuart Broad starts new beef with Virat Kohli after India destroyed England in the ICC T20 World Cup final 2024

In reaction to an Instagram post by ICC  praising Indian batsman Virat Kohli before the T20 World Cup final, former England pacer Stuart Broad gently criticised both the ICC and Kohli.

On Saturday, June 29 at Kensington Oval in Barbados, India and South Africa will square off in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final. In the first semifinal, South Africa defeated Afghanistan to advance to the final; in the second semifinal, India defeated England, the current champions.

As the much-awaited final draws near, the International Cricket Council honoured one of the most renowned batsmen in T20 World Cup history, Virat Kohli. Even though he has never won the competition, Kohli has an outstanding record—he is the all-time leading scorer in T20 World Cup history. With 1,216 runs in 34 games at an amazing average of 57.90 and a record 14 half-centuries, he has been a reliable performer since 2012. In two T20 World Cups—2014 and 2022—Kohli is the only batsman to have ended as the top run scorer. He wants to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at last this year.

The ICC posted a photo of Kohli sitting on a throne, donning the current India shirt, with pictures from his past T20 World Cup appearances all around him. With his post, Broad took a subtly critical stance against the ICC, which sparked debate among both fans and analysts.

Stuart Broad was unable to resist snarking at Virat Kohli and the International Cricket Council. Taking a swipe, the England cricket great wrote, "IPL?" on the ICC post.

Like the Twenty20 World Cup, Virat Kohli is the all-time highest run scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but he is yet to win the competition. With his critical comment, Broad draws attention to the fact that Virat Kohli's dominance is unmatched in the world of cricket.
