India created history as they defeated South Africa by seven runs to win the T20 World Cup 2024. This was India's second T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue also won the T20 World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni in 2007. India were the deserving winners of the T20 World Cup as they won the tournament undefeated. They defeated tournament favourites like Pakistan, Australia, England and South Africa en route to the title win.
Winning the T20 World Cup 2024 looked a distant dream when South Africa needed 26 runs in 24 balls, with six wickets in hand, and a set Heinrich Klaasen at the crease, however, the never-die attitude of team India and the brilliance of Jasprit Bumrah helped India snatch a win from the jaws of defeat.
Hardik Pandya got rid of Heinrich Klaasen in the 17th over while Bumrah removed Marco Jansen in the 18th over, giving just two runs. Arshdeep Singh then followed it up with a four-run over, leaving South Africa 16 to win in the final over. Hardik Pandya then removed David Miller on the first ball of the final over as India held their nerves to win the game.
