'I’M SAD TO SEE YOU LEAVE': ROHIT SHARMA'S WIFE RITIKA SAJDEH PENS HEARTFELT NOTE

Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh posted a special tribute as the Indian captain bid adieu to the shortest format after the T20 World Cup 2024. India defeated South Africa by seven runs to lift the T20 World Cup title for the second time.

Ritika has been a passionate supporter of his husband and has almost accompanied him to every match in the last few years. It turned out to be a brilliant campaign for the 37-year-old as Rohit finished as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 257 runs.

However, the Indian captain followed the path of his fellow colleague Virat Kohli and announced his retirement from the shortest format. He however confirmed that he will continue to play the limiter over and the red ball format for India.

Ritika took to Instagram as she posted, “Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring. As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you’ve thought long and hard about what’s best for this team but that doesn’t make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much and I am so incredible proud to call you mine!”

India fall short in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup as they lost to Australia in the final in Ahmedabad. This T20 World Cup final was a redemption opportunity and Rohit made sure this time they reached the final hurdle with no more hiccups.

Alongside Rohit and Virat, Ravindra Jadeja too announced his retirement from the T20Is.
